02-28-94 tb,pcFebruary 28, 1994 On the above date New Scandia Township Planning Commission held their regular monthly meeting. The following Town Board members were present: Charles Nordin, Russell Jackson, Kevin Nickelson, Duane Thompson and Russell Jackson. Robert Swinehart Planning Commission recommends to the Town Board to deny the variance for Robert Swinehart, 16377 May Ave. North, Marine, MN 55047. Lots 6 and 7 of Merrywood Addition. The denial is based on the following: 1) The request is due to a self imposed hardship; the record show that Mr Swinehart was not an unsuspecting buyer regarding the problems in developing the lot. 2) Sewage system is marginal. 3) Possible drainage problems from the west of Orwell. 4) 75 feet is to close to the lake. 5) Substandard lot with potential significant environmental impact on the lake notwithstanding steps that may be taken to preclude such problems. Paul Rasmussen made amotion to adopt the Planning Commission recommendation as it is reasonable to require denial. Duane Thompson seconded and adopted. George Galleberg Planning Commission recommends to the Town Board to grant the variance to George Galleberg, 110410 205th Street Court North, Scandia, MN 55073. Lot 21, Block 1, Harmony Acres. To construct a garage 7.6 feet from all property lines to the corner of the garage. Duane Thompson made motion to accept. Russell Jackson seconded and adopted.
