Message from the Mayor
it
It has been an honor and a pleasure to serve as your mayor for close toyears. At this time, for a variety of reasons, I have decided to not seekanother term. Many things have happened during my four terms for which I
am especially proud, including the revitalization of our community shownnt
through the increase of volueerism. I have learned the importance of letting people know they are valued.
I believe a good mayor is someone who understands the importance of creating a community that people
want and value, who listens to people and keeps an open mind to them. I have established the city's "Good
Neighbor Award," where nominations come in for those who have made a difference for others. I've worked to
highlight the good things they are doing in the city.
I have worked toward the following goals:
Internet Improvements, accelerating roadwork, new trails, and revitalizing village center projects that are underway.
Supporting the Scandia Heritage Alliance with its accomplishments of creating a comprehensive map of a Scandia Heritage
Trail, and its development of the Water Tower Barn Heritage Center.
Supporting tourism: welcoming new businesses into Scandia
Putting ALL RESIDENTS of Scandia FIRST while tackling difficult issues with transparency, civility, and fairness.
Thanks to the good people of Scandia who have shown their trust in me by electing me
as mayor for the past eight years. My
family and I will continue to be part of the Scandia community as we have for over 52 years,
and look forward to the good times
ahead. Please contact me with any questions or comments.
