5.a 2023.07.26 Aug 2023 Chair reportPRC Chair report – for Aug 2023 Council actions I attended the July 18 City Council meeting. There, I explained how the Wojtowitz family approached the PRC with a desire to have a discussion with the city regarding the future of the tennis court and possibly the ballfield at Barton Johnson. The council approved moving ahead with the discussion. I was informed the Wojtowitz family is out town until early August, at which time I will coordinate a conversation with them, the church, myself, and Administrator Morell. Midco day children’s story path stories On July 26, with the help of city staff, we sent additional calls for more stories, specifically for Midco day. An FYI was prepared for the Lions meeting, targeting members with kids / grandkids or neighbors to enter. Also, I prepared a communication and submitted it to the country messenger for possible publication in the week of July 31 publication. On August 3, I met, via zoom, with Patti Ray and the Midco rep to discuss plans for the event, including public works needs. Charlie Fischer has been helpful with readiness at Lilleskogen. Lions club July 27 I gave a short update Playground update to the Lions, and, tentatively, verbally invited them to the dedication ceremony. When public works can provide a firm completion estimate, I will write up a short invitation for distribution to the club. I also invited the club to Midco day. Finally, on behalf of the PRC, I thanked the club for continuing support, specifically for their contribution to the playground as well as funding for the shirts for the Taco Daze pickleball tourney. Another Tai Chi class Bill Jabas approached me about attending another PRC meeting to recap his successful Tai Chi class experience. He is also interested in a second offering. He will attend the September PRC meeting with a proposal. Because this is a longer conversation, I will add this topic to new business for September. Respectfully submitted, Terry Gorham PRC Chair
