Lilleskogen Park
Public Works has reviewed the Midco Day set up requests and will finalize set up prior to the
event.
Playground Project:
The playground structure installation has begun and by the time of the meeting a majority of the
structure will be installed. Timeline for the installation of the rubber surface and mulch is to be
determined based on final completion of the structure installation. Public Works suggests proceeding
with planning an August 30th opening. A notification to the public will go out as soon as a specific
timeline is received by the installers and confirmed the play structures and surfacing will be ready and
safe to use.
Liten and Hay Lake Park Signs
The new park signs have been ordered and will be installed once delivered. The Liten Park sign
will be installed first along with mowing of the trail and installation of a picnic table or bench.
Notable Maintenance:
Our seasonal staff this year have been completing many projects this year along with the
continual normal maintenance. Utilizing two seasonal staff this summer has allowed for the
additional projects, efficiency, and completion assigned tasks.
Future Projects
With the budgeting process underway for 2024, Public Works has been working on more
definitive project costs for 2024. Currently cost related to the rink board replacement have
been priority. Actual budgeted costs will be dependent on the scope of work determined to be
the best practical and fiscal application for replacement. Quotes are coming in for a completely
new board system, used frame system with new fiberglass panels, and complete used system
installed. A complete used system will come with poly paneling at a much-reduced cost but will
need to be replaced by all new fiberglass panels within 3-6 years. Options and a
recommendation will be discussed with City Administrator Morell with a final budgeted cost
placed in the Parks 404 fund.
Public Works is also contacting multiple vendors in regards to the tennis/pickleball court
improvements. This will be a multi-faceted project with asphalt repair or replacement, court
surfacing, and fencing improvements. Similar to the playground project multiple contractors
will be required to complete the project.
