Liten and Hay Lake Park Signs
The new park signs have been ordered and will be installed once delivered. The Liten Park sign
will be installed first along with mowing of the trail and installation of a picnic table or bench.
Rink Board Replacement
The board replacement project has started with the removal of the dasher boards. The old
wood sections were hauled away and the metal posts and chain link were recycled at a local
facility. Public Works will be cleaning the concrete surface prior to the installation of the
updated board system. Installation of the updated system will begin in later October after the
new fiberglass panels are attached to the frame sections.
Tennis/Pickleball Court
Public Works has continued on scope of work and costs related to the tennis/pickleball courts.
Contact has been made with other metro City’s which are currently completing similar projects
to compare current construction costs to what we will be able to accomplish with the budgeted
funds for 2024.
As of now most of the projects in the area have had a budget of $150,000 which only covered
overlaying the existing asphalt and applying the acrylic court surface and court lines. Our
project will likely require subsoil corrections adding to the estimated cost of the project. Added
funding may be needed above the current budgeted amount and would not include
improvements to the Barton Johnson courts.
