8.d) Engineering Updates � . d.) , �,, . � �-� • ��� ��J �� SC.ANDIA 0 City of Scandia Engineering Updates 9/17/2013 En�ineerin� • Attended the Wastewater Advisory Committee meeting on August 28th, information was presented that included monitoring well and groundwater information. • The City GIS system has been completed and was presented by Bolton & Menk staff to City staff on September 4th. At the presentation an overview was provided to the staff and a demonstration was completed on how to use the Scandia Web GIS program. A GIS reference manual was also prepared specifically for the City of Scandia to have as a future reference guide. • City staff will be borrowing a GPS unit from Bolton & Menk to collect additional information in the upcoming weeks that can be incorporated into the GIS system. • Washington County is currently looking at larger solutions to improve safety at the intersection of Lofton Avenue N and Hwy 97. The County has applied for cooperative agreement funding with MnDOT to complete intersection improvements at the intersection of Lofton Ave & Hwy 97. • We completed road and utility easement figures and descriptions for the two Roger Larson parcels along 228th Street North. The information has been forwarded to the City Attorney so an agreement can be prepared to obtain signatures from the owner. • 2013 Seal Coat Project has completed all the seal coat work and the initial sweeping. Remaining work that is required per the Contract includes a second sweeping and restriping the 4" double centerline yellow lines on various streets. • With the Zavoral Mine work starting up, we will be reviewing current crash data and when the truck hauling begins the 14-hour video log and turning movement counts at the TH 95/97 intersection will be completed. Truck hauling is anticipated to begin mid November 2013. • Final project closeout paperwork has been requested from Septic Check to submit, upon receiving the information a Final Contractor's Request for Payment can be prepared and brought to the City Council for final approval. We have communicated to Septic Check we want this ready for the October City Council meeting.
