Re: Staff Report Discussion of Term Corrections in 2024 & 2026
PRC members are appointed by City Council in staggered, 5-year terms as established by Code
of Ordnance, chapter 30.08(C):
There is established a Park and Recreation Advisory Commission for the city, to act in an advisory
capacity to the Council in all matters relating to a park and recreation program in the city. The
Park and Recreation Advisory Committee consists of five members appointed by the Council for
staggered terms of five years, expiring on February 28 each year.
Currently two appointments are scheduled to expire in 2024 and two in 2026:

To correct these errors created by a mix of vacancies of terms and new administrative staff, staff
proposes the following:
1. In 2024, request Council appoint one term to expire in 2028 (4-years) and one to expire
in 2029 (5-years.)
2. In 2026, request Council appoint one term to expire in 2030 (4-years) and one to expire
in 2031 (5-years.)
In the case of future vacancies, future appointments would only be through the original term
expiration date.
