5.d) Resolution No. 03-20-12-01 Reestablishing Precincts and Polling Places Meeting Date: 3/20/2012
Agenda Item:
City Council Agenda Report
City of Scandia
14727 209' St. North
Scandia, MN 55073 (651) 433-2274
Action Requested: Adopt a resolution reestablishing precincts and polling places.
Deadline/ Timeline: Deadline is Apri13, 2012.
Background: • Following redistricting of the state legislature, which occurs every
10 years, cities must reestablish their precincts and polling places.
This action is required even if no changes are made.
• No changes are proposed. Scandia currently has a single voting
precinct and polling place. While we do have a large number of
voters for a typical polling place, the Community Center is a large
facility that allows us to efficiently accommodate all of the city's
voters.
• The deadline for adopting the resolution and submitting it to the
county and the state is Apri13, 2012.
Recommendation: I recommend that the Council adopt the resolution.
