RE: Attorney's Report
FILE: 12-SO1-TFM
The following is a summary of the various matters as to which services were provided on behalf
of the City of Scandia since my last report and to the present date and is provided to each of you
for purposes of the City of Scandia Council meeting scheduled for Tuesday, June 19, 2012.
CITY MATTERS
1. Tiller Corporation CUP (12-S02-TFM). This file continues to require a fair amount of
attention relating to the draft EIS, comments submitted with respect to the draft EIS and
other timing issues relating to the EIS and the conditional use permit process in general.
2. Continenza Variance Aplication (12-SO4-TFM). We have been in communication with
the attorney for the Continenzas regarding their request for a fee reimbursement waiver
or reduction and we have responded to that request. It is my understanding from the
Council's prior meeting and discussions with the City Administrator that no reduction or
waiver will be granted.
3. Recyclingreement (12-S06-TFM). We reviewed and provided comments on the
Washington County Recycling Grant Agreement and certain of its provisions particularly
those relating to the recycling of government recyclable materials at the Newport
Recycling Center.
4. NSU Wastewater Operations Contract (12-S19-TFM). We reviewed and provided
proposed revisions to an agreement for the maintenance and monitoring of this system. I
have received the response by NSU to my comments and will be reviewing its comments
prior to the Council meeting.
