Subject: Laurel Ridge Development
Dear Scandia Planning Commission-
We are concerned residents of Scandia living on 205th Street. We are OPPOSED to the Laurel Ridge Development
project.
205th is unique because it is part of the Sand Lake Trail route. Because of this, we have A LOT of bicyclists, walkers,
motorcyclists, and rollerbladers out for recreation on this road, all days and times of the week and weekend.
We urge the Commission NOT to allow more than 4 lots (10 acres each) on the Johnson property! More than that would
be dangerous, would crowd our streets with unwanted traffic, and ruin the peace and quiet we all moved here to
experience.
We want to encourage the city NOT to fall for the developers plans to "grow' our community. WE are the ones who live
here. WE are ones who will be forever impacted by this development. THEY will not.
The developers will come in, reshape the area, make their money, then leave. And we, the residents and city counsel,
will be left with the problems that more homes and crowding will create. More people= more problems, not growth.
We want to live in the country where it is secluded, peaceful, full of trees and hills and ponds, NOT houses and sidewalks
and street lamps. Please do NOT turn Scandia into another Hugo or Forest Lake with housing projects, traffic, and crime
galore.
Furthermore, many residents that live on ODELL AVE are opposed and worried about all the traffic this will bring through
their neighborhood.
Thank you for your service to our community, for keeping it peaceful, and for listening to those that you serve,
Sincerely-Amy and Adam Grahek
