Subject: New zoning ordinance amendments
Dear Neil, i
In response to Christine Maevsky's request for input please accept this letter and feel free to distribute it to
members of the planning commission.
This information is concerning zoning regs for residential properties and lakefront properties only. NOT ag
properties.
This letter also addresses the packet let out for discussion on the 8th of Nov.
Although it read to be quite good, I don't know why it is such a change from the existing ordinance. I have only
a few short comments.
Either add a statement such as "storage in required front yard setback is prohibited" or revert back to the
existing definition of front yard as "from the street to the front plane of the primary structure continuous from
inside property line to inside property line".
Define "inner lot line" to be from inside boundry of the required side yard setback across the front of the
entire property to the inside boundry of the other required side yard setback.
Typical wording for side yard parking or storage is that it be parallel to the side of the garage, or
perpendicular to the street. This eliminates some of the junk yard syndrome while not restricting storage.
Add "car or motorcycle trailers, open or closed", and "toy haulers". To sect (249) "vehicle definitions".
You may want to consider front yard storage (lake side storage) for lakeside properties to be limited to
materials or equipment normaly used for maintenance or recreation for that property. Maybe only for off
season storage. Such things as docks, boat lifts, jet skis, pontoon boats, etc....
I thank you for the opportinity to have my input heard. My hope is that it will help you even if only a little
bit. The devil is in the details, so is salvation.
Sincerely, Steve Toensing 19553 Parkview Lane N
