5.c) Comprehensive Plan Steering Committee Informationf J f1
SCANDIA
Dear Applicant:
Thank you for your interest in serving on the Comprehensive Plan Steering Committee.
The City of Scandia's 2040 Comprehensive Plan will replace the current Comprehensive Plan, adopted
in 2008. The Comprehensive Plan is intended to be the vision of Scandia in 2040. It outlines the goals,
policies and tools to be used in achieving this vision.
The Steering Committee is intended to act as a sounding board for community issues, land use
policies, and goals and will actively take part in the development of the Comprehensive Plan by
providing high level guidance and recommendations. Members will be asked to commit to
participating in three workshops, beginning in January or February, and ending in September. The
total time commitment is a minimum of 2 hours per workshop in addition to any preparation time in
advance of the workshops. Committee members will receive an email in advance of each meeting
with an agenda, handouts and meeting minutes. All meetings will be held at Scandia City Hall.
Nothing more than an interest in the community and the ability to commit your time is required.
Serving on a board, commission, or committee is an excellent way to meet other residents and to
contribute in a very meaningful way to your community.
To be considered for a seat on the Comprehensive Plan Steering Committee, please submit an
application by December 28, 2016, to the City of Scandia, 14727 209th St. N, Scandia, MN 55073.
Applications can also be emailed to n.soltis ci.scandia.mn.us or faxed to 651.433.5112.
Please contact me at 651.433.2274 with any questions that you may have about serving on this or
other committees. Thank you once again for your interest in serving the City of Scandia.
