Next court amenities
I traded a few ideas with Erich Kertzscher regarding possible / future amenities for the new courts.
Funding for these to include general fundraising, contributions from the local businesses, the Lions club,
or other reach-out to larger organizations such as the larger businesses in the metro area.
In addition, like the Forest Lake Club, create a Scandia Pickleball club, with a voluntary $25 / a year
‘dues’, proceeds for which can be used acquire lower cost items and host occasional social / recreational
events for the users of the courts.
Our ideas included the following:
Short term / lower cost
• Defibrillators, other safety related like a first aid kit
• A lockable storage box
• A few paddles for the beginner players
• Balls
• A large squeegee
• A wide broom
• A big board bulletin board, for public events and use during tournament events
Medium cost items
• Electrical connection in the court area
• Permanent benches inside the play area
• Picnic tables / benches in the perimeter area (to benefit both the court users and the
playground)
Long term, higher cost
• Wind screens
• Lighting
For discussion at the Dec 2 PRC meeting.
New stories at Lilleskogen
I put up the new ‘How to cook a turkey’ stories at Lilleskogen on November 29. I also sent her a couple
of pictures and suggested narrative for a City of Scandia Facebook post regarding these stories.
Bee has more stories to be displayed, the topic is things to be thankful for this holiday season. I will look
to putting these up mid-December.
