Re: Meister’s Bar and Grill Authorization to Sell Liquor During Vinterfest,
January 24th and 25th
Background:
State statute allows the City Council to authorize holders of a retail on-sale liquor license to sell
alcohol at a community festival or at any convention, banquet, conference, meeting or social
affair conducted on the premises of a sports, convention or cultural facility owned by the City.
Issue:
Should the City Council authorize Meister’s Bar and Grill to sell alcohol during Vinterfest on
January 24-25, 2025?
Proposal Details:
Scot Taylor, owner of Meister’s Bar and Grill, has applied for a temporary off-premise sales
liquor license to sell beer and liquor during Vinterfest on Saturday, January 24th from 2 pm to 11
pm, and on Saturday, January 25th from 9 am to 11 pm. The location of the serving area will be
inside a tent on the Community Center grounds adjacent to the hockey rink.
Fiscal Impact:
The $25 application fee has been paid.
Options:
1) Approve the Temporary Off-Premises Sales Liquor License.
2) Approve the Temporary Off-Premises Sales Liquor License with conditions.
3) Do not approve the Temporary Off-Premises Sales Liquor License.
