Re: Chair and Vice Chair Appointments
Background:
The City’s Code of Ordinances, Section 30.08(B) provides for the Planning Commission to
appoint a Chairperson and Vice Chairperson of the Planning Commission from among the
members of the Commission for a 1-year term, subject to approval by the Council.
Issue:
Who should the Commission recommend for Chair and Vice Chair for the period from February,
2025 through January, 2026?
Proposal Details:
Travis Loeffler was appointed the Chair in 2024 and Jan Hogle the Vice Chair in 2024. There are
no limits on how long a person may serve in those positions. Any member of the Planning
Commission would be eligible for the positions.
Fiscal Impact:
Compensation for the Chair is $300/quarter. The Vice Chair receives the same $250/quarter as
the rest of the commission members.
Recommendation:
Make a recommendation on Chair and Vice Chair for 2025 to the City Council. The
recommendation will be considered by the Council at their February 18th meeting.
