Served in Law Enforcement for 28 years. Currently serve as Chief of
Police for the City of Hastings. Prior to this position, I was a Police
Officer with the University of Minnesota for 20 years. I am well
versed in the function and governance of city councils and boards.
List any of your special interests, activities or hobbies which you have that would apply to this committee:
My interests include visiting local establishments in Scandia to
promote their businesses, hiking and cross country skiing at local
and state parks, biking the roads through and around Scandia and
fishing in the local waterways.
In what volunteer activities have you participated? What was your role?
I served 5 years on the Eaglebrook Church security team; I was on
the board of directors at Hastings Family Services for 6 years and
always willing to help out a neighbor or friend when the work is too
much to handle.

OBJECTIVE
While growing up in Hugo I had the opportunity to spend many weekends in Scandia with
friends. My goal was to always live in this beautiful community. I was fortunate enough
to move to Scandia 2 years ago and have a vested interest in learning more and
participating on the Economic Development Authority to ensure Scandia thrives.
LEADERSHIP
I have been in a supervisor capacity since 2002, holding positions as a Police Sergeant,
Lieutenant, Deputy Chief and Chief of Police. Leadership to me is building a team
mentality by truly caring about your staff and always providing an open door.
