Re: Posting Summer Seasonal Maintenance Worker
Background: The City has advertised for two Seasonal Summer Maintenance Workers to
maintain City facilities and grounds with various other duties as assigned at a pay range of
$15.00 to $17.50 per hour.
Based on the labor agreement with the Union, non-student part-time employees can be
employed for up to 67 days without becoming a member of the Union. This would provide for
13 weeks of employment per hired position.
Issue: Should the City post for two summer seasonal maintenance positions.
Fiscal Impact: No negative impact is anticipated as two positions have been budgeted for.
Options:
1) Consent posting two open summer seasonal positions.
2) Take no action on the request.
