06.g Staff Report-posting summer seasonal positions Consent For Posting Seasonal Positions Date of Meeting: 3/18/2025 To: Mayor and City Council From: Charles Fischer – Director of Public Works Re: Posting Summer Seasonal Maintenance Worker Background: The City has advertised for two Seasonal Summer Maintenance Workers to maintain City facilities and grounds with various other duties as assigned at a pay range of $15.00 to $17.50 per hour. Based on the labor agreement with the Union, non-student part-time employees can be employed for up to 67 days without becoming a member of the Union. This would provide for 13 weeks of employment per hired position. Issue: Should the City post for two summer seasonal maintenance positions. Fiscal Impact: No negative impact is anticipated as two positions have been budgeted for. Options: 1) Consent posting two open summer seasonal positions. 2) Take no action on the request.
