8.d Engineering Updates City of Scandia Engineering Updates 1/17/2017 Engineering • 2017 Seal Coat and Crack Filling Project Will be working with Staff to identify roads to be seal coated and crack filled within the planned budget and bring forth to a future City Council meeting for final authorization. • Comprehensive Plan Update We will be attending Vinterfest and holding a “pop-up” meeting at the Lions Pancake Breakfast from 8:00am – 11:00am. Will be asking the public a few simple questions that will help develop the Comprehensive Plan Update. In the process of attracting Steering Committee members, once that process is completed the first committee meeting will be scheduled end of February/early March. • Comfort Lake-Forest Lake Watershed District (CLFLWD) On December 5, 2016 attended a CLFLWD Technical Advisory Committee meeting to discuss revisions to the District Rules. We have submitted comments that would add/change; definitions, procedural requirements, stormwater management, and erosion control requirements. On January 10, 2017 attended a CLFLWD Technical Advisory Committee Meeting on their Plan Amendment. They are amending sections; 3000-Programs, 5000- Projects, Water Quality Goals and Progress Evaluation Metrics. Public Open House will be scheduled in February 2017 • 2017 City Engineer’s Conference I will be attending the City Engineer’s Conference January 25 th – 27 th . Some of the topics presented at the conference will include: Roadway Safety Issues Retrofitting and Maintenance of Stormwater Treatment Ponds and Traditional Flood Detention Basins for Improved Water Quality/Reuse ADA Challenges and Solutions in Design and Construction MnDOT Update, LRRB Update, League of MN Cities Update • Tree Workshop Wondering what trees would thrive in your yard?
