Wastewater Treatment, and Log House Landing. Was an invited advisor to the Scandia Veterans'
Memorial group.
I would like to contribute to the development of a future vision for Scandia that balances the current
quality of life and natural assets with the desire for additional businesses and the need for a
broader tax base to sustain our essential public services and infrastructure.
My profession of Architecture, a cousin of Planning, involves the synthesis of numerous, often
conflicting, and frequently technical aspects into a complex and consistent solution that supports
shared goals. I believe my design and problem-solving background - in both architecture and
engineering - combined with my service on the Planning Commission, would be of value to the
community. In particular, I would contribute some ability to anticipate and evaluate the physical,
visual consequences of planning decisions on the City - a critical aspect of preserving our natural
and historic assets, as well as enhancing our community's collectively developed value.
Through firsthand experience in Scandia government, I have grown to appreciate how vitally
important it is to solicit and consider a wide range of opinions, to listen actively, and to strive toward
consensus in decision making. The Comprehensive Plan process is a critical step in building broad
support for a desirable future vision of Scandia. If we can accomplish this, it is my hope that we
can better balance the all too familiar development conflicts between adjacent citizens.
Take Action - Conserve Our Scandia, Founding Board Member, 2009-2010
Planning Commission, City of Scandia, 11/2010 - 1/2015
None. I own no property in Scandia other than my own home, and I seek no paid position or
professional commission.
