Re: Staff Report Parks Logo Consideration
Background: Parks and Recreation Committee members discussed ordering shirts to identify
themselves at sponsored city events (Vinterfest, Taco Daze, etc.) or on official Park’s business
(presenting contest winners awards.) In the process of considering an order with Cintas for Parks
and Recreation Committee members, individuals asked if there is a special logo for this
committee. Member Dustin Hegland offered this design to be considered:
Issue: Should the Scandia Parks and Recreation use a unique logo?
Proposal Details: Scandia Parks and Recreation committee members would like to order shirts
from Cintas, at their own personal expense, to use at times when they are representing Scandia’s
Parks and Recreation Committee. Committee members would own these shirts, maintain and
replace them at their own expense. At the April 7, 2025 Scandia Parks and Recreation Committee
meeting, Zauner moved to present to Council the recommended Parks and Recreation logo designed by
Hegland, with full PRC support, which Hegland seconded. Motion carried unanimously.
Fiscal Impact: None.
Options:
1) Approve Hegland’s recommended Scandia Parks and Recreation logo.
2) Do not approve a unique Scandia Parks and Recreation unique logo.
3) Make no decision at this meeting.
Recommendation: Option 1.
