PRC Logo
Our new PRC logo was Wed by the city council at the April meeting.
Follow up to our new logo — Scandia Merchandise
Mayor Steve Kronmiller contacted me and asked, in light of the new PRC logo, if we should
make a more coordinated effort with the tourism committee and get some Scandia 'swag' out
there, like caps, sweatshirts or T-shirts or even a flag. His idea was to have a design for the
items, produce the items and make them available to local merchants, for example, Dickens
Pickens or Cenex or the new bike shop or others. He was wondering if the parks committee
would support the idea, and aware we didn't vote on it, I offered my own opinion is 'yes.'
He is going to bring this to the next council meeting work session. No PRC action needed at
this time.
Earth day toy swap
The Earth Day toy swap at the April 12 Lions 'Breakfast with the Easter Bunny' was a success,
especially given the first time the event was introduced to the community.
No formal numbers were kept. We estimated 25-30 breakfast attendees brought toys to
exchange. Many children chose new -to -them toys to bring home. Several observations were
made that it was positive to see all the kids at breakfast. Many commented that the toy swap
was a nice attraction for the kids and may have contributed to their attendance.
Four medium size cardboard boxes of leftover toys were contributed to Family Pathways.
A suggested improvement for next year is to exclude stuffed toys.
