Re: 2026 Street Improvement Project
Preliminary Engineering Scope and Fee Estimate
Dear Mayor and Council:
As part of the 2026 Street Improvement Project, we request that the City Council consider the
following preliminary engineering scope and fee estimate to investigate 197th Street N for
potential improvement options. The scope of this work was determined over multiple meetings
and discussions with City Staff revolving around current conditions and the lack of fire access
per the City’s driveway requirements.
The following scope and fee have been compiled for the City’s review.
Scope:
• Obtain all topographic survey of the site
• Scan the existing rock wall
• Collect soil borings and provide a geotechnical report
• Develop a recommendation for 197th Street improvements including an updated total
project cost estimate
Fee:
• $27,500
The anticipated project schedule is as follows:
Survey/Wetland Delineations/Soil Borings June-August 2025
Authorize Preparation of Plans & Specifications September 16, 2025
Approve Plans & Specifications/Authorize Ad for Bid January 20, 2026
Bid Opening February 18, 2026
Consider Contract Award at City Council Meeting March 17, 2026
Construction May - September 2026
