Per the City’s Community Center Reservation Policies, reservation fees are only waived for meetings, not
events, as you can see from the clipped section of the policy below.

This is why the Sister City Committee has not been charged for meetings with Mellerud or organizational planning
meetings. However, events are not included in the fee waiver. The Committee should have been charged for using
the Hall for the last two signing date events, but staff missed this. Organizations similar to yours, like
Gammelgarden and the Scandia Heritage Alliance, have previously paid for the Hall's use for events. The
reservation fee for the event in question would be $300, plus a $300 cleaning and damage deposit.
If you wish to seek an exception to this policy, you must request that the City Council waive the fee. Our next
meeting is Tuesday, May 20.
