Subject: Scandia Merchandise
City Treasurer Veronica Korby and I have been collaborating with Apparel Pros in Forest Lake
to develop an online store for the City to sell apparel and merchandise. Veronica will share
details of her conversations with Apparel Pros at the meeting and show the variety of apparel
they offer for purchase.
I have reached out to our City Attorney about trademarking our logo. They do not perform the
work themselves, but can provide the City with quotes for firms that do. I did speak with
someone who has worked in intellectual property law firms for the last 20 years. They advised
to trademark the logo in black and white, thus allowing us to print it in any color combination we
want. Part of the trademark application requires the City to specify where the logo will be
displayed (e.g., apparel, glassware, etc.). We will need to figure this out before applying.
The City has not talked with Charlie McCarty from Scratch that Etch since last months meeting.
