05.b Exterior Storage Public Comments_Kramer1 b.eklund From:Susan Kramer < Sent:Sunday, August 3, 2025 8:11 AM To:mail Subject:Input on the proposed changes to Riparian Lot Storage Thank you for the hard discussions and proposed changes on this important policy. I am asking for you to consider the following: 1. Section 1 Amendment, Subdivision 2, A: IV I would appreciate adding language that would describe the docks and boat lifts that can be seasonally stored lakeside to add that they are routinely used in the water during the boating season. (Justification: our lake view has been impacted by a boat lift, that has not been put in the water for over 8 years.) 2. Section 1 Amendment, Subdivision 2, A: VI I would like to have folks be able to visit our home with RCV that do not have self-contained bathrooms, for example pop up campers, tear drop trailers etc. Could the description be changed to identify these types of RCV as exceptions? 3. Section 1 Amendment, Subdivision 2, B: f Location ii People will get creative with this please have tight standards as to when you will allow a special permit. I would encourage you to mention adjoining property input may be used in approving the special permit. Also an annual review of the permit to see how it is impacting the visual aesthetic and neighbors could be helpful. One of the many wonders of living on a lake is the treasured lakeview and allowing storage lakeside could drastically impact this. In general I think for the smaller properties less than .25 acre only one RCV OR LRV is best and for .25-.5 acre two total is best.
