Roads/ ROW
Ditch mowing has now shifted into full mowing of dedicated and easement areas.
Staff contfnue to remove down trees or trees leaning over the roadways from soft ground conditfons.
The new cold storage building has now been outiitted with a new pallet racking system which staff installed. The
salt shed is also scheduled to be painted to match the new building and modificatfon to the lower four feet of
the siding is taking place as well.
Crack filling selected sectfons of road will begin soon.
Parks
Our seasonal staff member completed his final day in mid-August. Full tfme staff have contfnued the mowing of
Parks and other City propertfes.
Full tfme staff had available tfme to complete pulling weeds and mulching the landscape beds in front of City Hall
and around the Veterans Memorial at Lilleskogen Park.
Public Works staff also assisted the Lion’s with set up for the Taco Daze event; moving picnic tables and portable
toilets into proper locatfons.
Sewer
Tank pumping in the Bliss and Anderson Erickson systems will begin this month The number of tanks to be
pumped this season is around half of last year’s total.
Public Works staff will be attending wastewater seminars in the beginning of October and completfng
examinatfons for Class C wastewater operator licensing. Currently staff are class D licensed operators. With the
new treatment system coming online in the Bliss drain field the City will be required to have Class C operators
maintaining the system.
Buildings
The front entry way of City Hall is scheduled to be painted this fall. The area to be painted includes the tongue
and groove pine siding and the pine wood frame around the entry door.
