Subject: Business Directory and Welcome Letters
The EDA has focused on updating the City’s business directory, finding ways to promote local
businesses, and welcoming new residents to the Community. The first step taken was to put
together a survey that went out in early September. The email introducing the survey is below.
City Treasurer Veroncia Korby will present the results of the survey at the meeting. The
information gathered will be beneficial to both Committees.

The City of Scandia and its Economic Development Authority (EDA), in partnership with the Forest Lake Area
Chamber, are excited to launch several new iniƟaƟves to support and promote local businesses.
We’d love your input to help us plan and make these efforts a success.

1. Business Directory LisƟng – Updated business informaƟon for the city website and a future
promoƟonal site.
2. Scandia Business Expo – Fall 2025 – A free, non-sales event to showcase local products and services.
3. Welcome LeƩer Program – Feature your business in quarterly welcome packets for new residents,
with opƟonal coupons or offers at no cost.
4. Scandia-Branded Merchandise – Be part of new opportuniƟes to sell Scandia-branded items.
We also welcome any addiƟonal comments or suggesƟons you’d like to share.
