5. Capital Improvement Committee0SCANDIA Staff Report Date of Meeting: March 1, 2017 To: City Council From: Neil Soltis, Administrator Re: Capital Improvement Committee Background: At the January Work Session it was determined that the Capital Improvement Committee should include the Public Works Director, Fire Chief, City Administrator, a Park and Rec Committee member, and 3 citizens at -large. Since then the Parks & Public Works Committee has designated Terry Gorham as their representative and the Council has added Perry Rynders as a citizen member. During the interview process for the Parks & Recreation Committee member it was suggested that Cami Van Abel be offered the opportunity to be a citizen member. Cami has accepted that offer. At the Council meeting it was determined that the remaining citizen member slot be offered to those applicants for the Comprehensive Plan Steering Committee who were not selected. I've emailed those applicants and received 2 responses. Janie O'Connor is not interested and Mike White, who participated on the previous Capital Improvement Plan Committee, is interested. Issue: Should Cami Van Able be appointed at a citizen at -large? Should Mike White be appointed as the remaining citizen at -large member? Options: 1. Appoint Van Able 2. Appoint While 3. Solicit interest from the community at large. Recommendation: Options 1 & 2
