SCANDIA GOOD NEIGHBOR AWARD PROCLAMATION
WHEREAS, respecting, caring for, and helping others is a hallmark of the
American character, and central to how we as a community live; and
WHEREAS, respect and care for and from neighbors creates a more sustainable,
resilient community and makes Scandia a great place to live and be; and
WHEREAS, Scandia throughout its history has been the beneficiary of being a
community of Good Neighbors; and
WHEREAS, Rebecca Skupien is recognized as a Good Neighbor in Scandia as
she is a tireless volunteer for the Scandia-Marine Lions Club, the Scandia Farmers
Market, and many other community organizations; and
WHEREAS, Rebecca is always quick to lend a helping hand wherever she sees a
need; and
WHEREAS, Rebecca generously offers her talents and gifts without being asked,
always with a smile on her face; and
WHEREAS, Rebecca’s kind actions demonstrate her big heart and commitment to
making Scandia a wonderful place to live while inspiring others to follow in her
footsteps;
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City of Scandia proudly honors Rebecca
Skupien with the Scandia Good Neighbor Award for her unwavering dedication,
selfless service, and generous spirit.
