October Council Meeting
I FYI'ed to council about our Oct 21 visit to Scandia Elementary to award the Community Fun Day event prize
to Mrs. Lauer's 5t" grade class for Skyler Pierce's story. We put in a plug for next year's story.
Also, I updated the council about Vinterfest plans.
I also presented our letter of support for the Gateway trail extension that we ok'ed at our Oct PRC meeting.
State Parks Presentation
For discussion at the November 3 PRC meeting.
I talked to Lisa Phillipi of Friends of Scandia Parks and Trails (FSPT). We would like to collaborate on the
presentation. Lisa proposed the following:
• Possible dates the week of January 12 or 19. We could add this to early events for Vinterfest if week of
Jan 19.
• FSPT would do the advertising on social media (or course we can piggyback on that for the city
Facebook page)
• 1 know the Hoke's and will contact them for a date and an updated flyer. Recall I reported that they
can customize their presentation to a public audience.
• 1 can meet / discuss with them to be sure they have the correct connections to use the AV system in
the community center.
• Bee will help us reserve the community center and get it on the city calendar when we lock in a date.
• We will collaborate and bring cookies.
• Lisa and I can co -introduce ourselves and our respective committees and do the introduction of the
Hokes.
I explained to Lisa that I could get back to her week of Nov 17. She can be reached a f
any questions in the meantime.
