Re: Meister’s Bar and Grill Authorization to Sell Liquor During Vinterfest,
January 23-24, 2026
Background:
State statute allows the City Council to authorize holders of a retail on-sale liquor license to sell
alcohol at a community festival or at any convention, banquet, conference, meeting or social
affair conducted on the premises of a sports, convention or cultural facility owned by the City.
Issue:
Should the City Council authorize Meister’s Bar and Grill to sell alcohol during Vinterfest on
January 23-24, 2026?
Proposal Details:
Scot Taylor, owner of Meister’s Bar and Grill, has applied for a temporary off-premise sales
liquor license to sell beer and liquor during Vinterfest on Friday, January 23rd and on Saturday,
January 24th from 10 am to midnight. The location of the serving area will be inside a tent on
the Community Center grounds adjacent to the hockey rink.
Fiscal Impact:
The $25 application fee has been paid.
Options:
1) Approve the Temporary Off-Premises Sales Liquor License.
2) Approve the Temporary Off-Premises Sales Liquor License with conditions.
3) Do not approve the Temporary Off-Premises Sales Liquor License.
