Re: Appoint Planning Commissioner to the Capital Investment Committee
The Capital Investment Committee (CIC) meets during the City’s budgetary process to provide
strategic planning advice to the City Council on large capital expenditures involving roads,
buildings, parks and any infrastructure.
On January 2, 2019, the City Council determined that the Capital Investment Committee will be
comprised of the Public Works Director, Fire Chief, City Administrator, a City Council
representative, a Planning Commission member, and 3 citizens at-large. Staff would be non-
voting members of the CIC Committee.
In January 2019, Planning Commissioner Perry Rynders volunteered to serve on the Capital
Investment Committee and continued to be the Planning Commission representative until his
term on the Commission ended on February 1, 2026. This vacancy will need to be filled by one
member of the Planning Commission.
Any member of the Planning Commission can serve on the Capital Investment Committee. The
Capital Investment Committee meetings are scheduled as needed. In 2025, the CIC held three
meetings; in April, May and July.
