09.c EDA Minutes 01 26 26City of Scandia Economic Development Authority Board of Commissioners Meeting Minutes Tuesday, January 26, 2026 Attendance: Council members Steve Kronmiller and Jim Gribble. Also in Attendance: Executive Director Kyle Morell. Committee Members in Attendance: Jacqueline Chaves and Dave Wilske. Absent: Patrick Doyle, Carolyn Smith, and Patricia Lange Call to Order: President Kronmiller called the meeting to order at 6:30 p.m. Approval of Agenda: Motion by Kronmiller, seconded by Chavis, to approve the agenda as presented. Motion carried unanimously. Approval of Minutes: Minutes of the October 28, 2025, EDA Meeting were approved on a motion by Gribble, seconded by Wilke. 2019 EDA Work Plan The Committee discussed the revised work plan. Changes were suggested to update certain wording. Chavis asked about the goals being measurable. The Committee agreed that measurables should be defined early and adjusted as needed to ensure the work meets its stated goals. The Work Plan is a working document and can be adjusted as needed. Staff will put together summary documents of the City’s past actions in relation to the three tasks in the work plan for the Committee to review at its next meeting. Business Questionnaire Follow-Up The City has contacted each business listed in the current business directory four times. President Kronmiller would like to change our approach and ask any local business that wishes to be included in the directory to complete the form on the Business Directory website page. Councilmember Gribble volunteered to visit all the businesses that did not respond to any of the City’s inquiries. The City will also contact the Forest Lake Chamber of Commerce and the Chisago Lakes Chamber to request a list of Scandia businesses. Items for future discussions: The EDA and Tourism Committees are scheduled to have a second joint meeting to review work plans. That will take place in either February or March. Next meeting has been scheduled: Tuesday, February 24, 2026, at 6:30 PM Motion to adjourn made at 8:11 p.m. by Smith and seconded by Gribble. Motion carried unanimously.
