Vice -Chair Report
April 3, 2016
March 21 City Council Meeting
Highlights:
There was considerable discussion regarding the Log House Landing (LHL), and to the degree
information is presented in the semi-annual news -letter. There will be consideration of new policy of a
'unanimous consent' rules so that any communication from the council in, for example the newsletter,
represents agreement of the entire city council.
A public forum is scheduled regarding the LHL on April 25 at 6:30 PM
The council approved Jinks as PRC Chair and Gorham as PRC vice -chair.
Capital Improvement Committee
The first meeting of the Capital Improvement Committee was held on March 28. This committee has
been formed to identify capital improvement funding needs 2018 thru 2022. Neil Soltis sent advance
materials to the committee, to include criteria and a timeline for recommendations to the city council of
August 2017. A list of possible projects was presented. The next meeting is May 4. Terry Gorham is the
PRC representative.
Senior Programs
We have contacted the Osceola Medical Center Wellness personnel, with the intent to learn more about
their current programs in place and to pursue similar programs in Scandia. Members of the Osceola
team are scheduled to present 10 to 15 minutes of material, with time for additional Q and A, at the
April 3 PRC meeting.
