Re: Northern Natural Gas Resolution Extensions
Background:
On February 18, 2025, the City Council granted two variances allowing subdivision of property that
would create nonconforming lots for the purpose of a natural gas substation and access to the substation
pursuant to the conditions in Resolutions 02-18-25-01 and 02-18-25-02 (collectively “Previous
Resolutions”), which are attached.
The Previous Resolutions required that the proposed subdivisions be completed within one year from the
date the variances were approved. The applicant has requested a time extension until September 1,
2026, due to a title matter that needs to be resolved.
The attached Resolution 05-06-26-01 grants the applicant the requested extension.

RESOLUTION NO. 05-06-26-01
RESOLUTION AMENDING RESOLUTIONS 02-18-25-01 AND 02-18-25-02
TO EXTEND THE AMOUNT OF TIME TO
COMPLETE THE SUBDIVISION OF THE PROPERTY
WHEREAS, on February 18, 2025, the City Council granted two variances allowing
subdivision of property that would create nonconforming lots for the purpose of a natural gas
substation and access to the substation pursuant to the conditions in Resolutions 02-18-25-01 and
02-18-25-02 (collectively “Previous Resolutions”); and
WHEREAS, the Previous Resolutions required that the proposed subdivisions be
completed within one year from the date the variances were approved, and
WHEREAS, the applicant has requested a time extension until September 1, 2026 due to
a title matter that needs to be resolved.
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
SCANDIA, MINNESOTA, AS FOLLOWS:
1. The required subdivisions identified in Resolutions 02-18-25-01 and 02-18-25-02 shall
be completed by September 1, 2026.
Adopted by the Scandia City Council this 6th day of May, 2026.
