Subject: Full-Time Maintenance Hiring Recommendation
Background:
In late April and early May City Staff and Mayor Kronmiller interviewed candidates for the open
Full-Time Maintenance positions. Upon completion of the interviews, which included virtual
interviews with 13 candidates and a question-and-answer period followed by a tour of Public
Works with four final candidates, two finalists were chosen to fill the positions. After
considerable review Bryan Gravelle and Owen Dylong have been selected to fulfill the Public
Works Maintenance positions.
Issue:
Should the City of Scandia hire Bryan Gravelle at Step 2 and Owen Dylong at Step 1 for the Full-
Time Maintenance positions.
Proposals:
Offer Bryan Gravelle the position at Step 2: based on his past work experience ($31.08/hour
and 21 days PTO/year).

Offer Owen Dylong the position at Step1: ($29.44/hour and 16.5 days PTO/year).
Fiscal Impact:
There is no negative fiscal impact as both positions have been budgeted for in 2026.
Recommendation:
Hire both Bryan Gravelle and Owen Dylong under the condition they pass the pre -employment
process.
