6.a 3 Minutes of the 04-10-2017 Special meeting conduct the Board of Appeal and EqualizationApril 10, 2017
The Scandia City Council met as a Board of Appeals and Equalization on the above date in the Board
Room of the Scandia Community Senior Center. Mayor Christine Maefsky called the meeting to
order at 5:00 p.m.
Council members present: Bob Hegland, Steve Kronmiller, and Mayor Christine Maesfsky.
Staff present: City Assessor Chase Peloquin and Administrator Neil Soltis.
No property owners were in attendance to present appeals to the Board of Appeal and Equalization
for 2017, for taxes payable 2018.
Peloquin reviewed valuation changes that he was recommending based on discussions with
property owners in advance of the meeting. Peloquin recommended the following:
• David P. & Marlene F. Briggs, 22638 Manning Trail N., Parcel# 07.032.2024.0003 - reduce the
assessed market value to $175,100.
• Erich & Wendy Kertzscher, 21355 Parrish Rd. N, Parcel# 13.032.20.32.0001 - reduce the
assessed market value to $232,300.
• Federated Coops Inc., 14860 Scandia Trail, Parcel# 14.032.20.43.0005 — reduce the assessed
market value of the above -referenced property to $347,500 based on the income valuation
of the parcel.
• Perry M. & Leah K. Rynders, 13344 188th St. N, Parcel # 34.032.20.22.0011 - reduce the
assessed market value to $253,500.
• Paul M. & Dianna M. Hand, 13961 185th St. N, Parcel # 34.032.20.42.0008 - change the
classification from Residential Homestead to Agricultural.
• Old School LLC., 19707 St. Croix Trail N, Parcel# 30.032.19.24.0022 — change the
classification from Residential Homestead to Commercial.
MOTION by Hegland, seconded by Kronmiller, to approve the Assessor's recommendations as
presented. VOTE: 3-0 Motion carried.
No further business was conducted.
MOTION by Kronmiller, seconded by Maefsky to adjourn. VOTE: 3-0 Motion carried. The meeting
was adjourned at 5:28 p.m.
