Garage Sale Update
Staff reported submitting a second request for Garage Sale banners to be posted, confirming the four
locations at the intersections of 95/97, 97/Olinda, 97/Manning, and near Hay Lake Park. Twenty-
seven sales are registered and the digital maps available in addition to printed maps. Staff also
confirmed sending reminders to all of the sellers with links to the map and a feedback survey.
Discussion – Draft Tourism Work Plan
Potential Bike Ride – Porubcansky suggested using the Dala Horse Route instead of creating
a new one that is primarily out of Scandia city limits. Discussion included potentially starting
at Hay Lake Park, suggesting 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. for the event hours, selecting 3-4 possible
points of interest or rest stops on this 15-mile route, deciding the entrance fee and products
given to all participants (what do people get for their fee,) keeping Oakhill Road construction
in mind with the tunnel on the Gateway Trail project, opportunities to advertise at upcoming
community events in Scandia, and how to limit registration and/or age minimums on
independent bikes. All committee members are invited to ride or drive the proposed new
nd
route on Tuesday, June 2 @ 9 a.m. at Hay Lake Park and conclude with an organizational
planning group to meet up at New Scandia Café at or about 11 a.m.
Adjournment – Motion by Lee, seconded by Porubcansky, to adjourn the meeting. Motion
carried unanimously. Meeting adjourned at 4:44 p.m.
