NOTICE OF SPECIAL PLANNING COMMISSION
MEETING TO CONDUCT SITE VISITS
NOTICE IS HERBY GIVEN that the Planning Commission of the City of Scandia, Washington
County, Minnesota, will hold a special meeting on Tuesday, July 7, 2026, beginning at 5:05 p.m. to
visit the sites and gather information concerning the following requests that will come before the
Commission at its July 7, 2026 regular meeting:
1) Variance to expand the existing legal nonconforming structure within a top of bluff setback.
Site Visit Location: 20033 Quinnell Avenue North
Applicant: Merritt Clapp-Smith
On-site at 5:05 p.m. to 5:20 p.m.
2) Variance to replace the existing septic system within a wetland setback.
Site Visit Location: 10740 230th Street North
Applicant: George and Kristel Wilkinson
On-site at 5:35 p.m. to 5:50 p.m.
3) Variance to replace the existing septic system within a wetland setback.
Site Visit Location: 14250 Scandia Trail North
Applicant: Larry Granberg
On-site at 6:00 p.m. to 6:15 p.m.
4) Variance to expand the existing legal nonconforming structure within the OHWL setback of Big
Marine Lake
Site Visit Location: 18510 Norell Avenue North
Applicant: Eric Boyles
On-site at 6:25 p.m. to 6:40 p.m.
This is an official Planning Commission meeting and is therefore open to the public. The Planning
Commissioners will meet at the site visit locations. Owners, applicants, and interested parties are also
invited to meet at the site.
