Re: Ozark Tavern and Grill Authorization to Sell Beer at Taco Daze, September 12, 2026
Background:
State statute allows the City Council to authorize holders of a retail on-sale liquor license to sell
alcohol at a community festival or at any convention, banquet, conference, meeting or social
affair conducted on the premises of a sports, convention, or cultural facility owned by the City.
Issue:
Should the City Council authorize Ozark Tavern and Grill to sell beer at Taco Daze?
Proposal Details:
Ozark Tavern and Grill has applied for a temporary off-premise sales liquor license to sell beer at
Taco Daze on Saturday, September 12, 2026. Taco Daze is an event sponsored by the Scandia
Marine Lions and will be held on the Community Center grounds.
A beer tent will be set up near the Warming House from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on September 12,
2026.
Fiscal Impact:
$25 application fee has been paid.
Options:
1) Authorize Ozark Tavern and Grill to sell beer at Taco Daze on September 12, 2026 at the
Community Center as described in the application received July 13, 2026.
2) Add conditions to the approval.
3) Do not authorize Ozark Tavern and Grill to sell beer at Taco Daze, September 12, 2026.
Recommendation:
Option 1.
