Subject: Wayne Erickson Tour Questions
Public Works has been requested to answer a few concerns from the PRC Tour which took place at the Wayne
Erickson Ballfield earlier this year. Below is the list of concerns and responses:
1. Noticed disrepair to concession stand
The storage building ‘concession stand’ is on our schedule to be power washed and painted. This building
is no longer a concession stand as it does not meet any food sale or prep code requirements. Public Works
has been requesting a pavilion/storage garage be built at this location and to be included in the CIP within
the next five years. We will keep this current building usable as a storage space until a more suitable
structure is budgeted for.
2. Conduit around bleachers and stand does shows wires/ Outlet on concession stand does not have
cover
The exterior outlets located on the building and behind the backstop bleachers have been repaired.
3. One corner of bleachers is balances on a blocks, should that be fixed?
All of the bleacher systems rest on treated 2x4’s to separate the aluminum from the concrete surface
below.
4. Players benches have heaved
The players benches are heaved and due to the installation type and location between the two fences
causes a difficulty in replacing the benches. Public Works has been searching for an alternative bench style
and installation type and will complete the replacement when a better option is selected and rental
equipment is available to complete the work.
