Subject: Winter Seasonal Staff Hiring - Consent
Background
Public Works has also hired two Seasonal Plow Operators to clear snow from roads and parking lots. Public
Works plans to continue staffing two operators. Staff has reached out to past Seasonal Plow Operators, and
one position will need to be filled for the season, and both if James Gribble does not return.
Issue
Should the City post for one, or two if needed, open Seasonal Plow Operator positions at a rate of
$18.25/hour for the 2026-2027 winter season?
Fiscal Impact
All positions have been budgeted for in the 2026-2027 budgets.
Recommendation for Consent
(1) Staff recommends hiring one Seasonal Plow Operator starting at $18.25/hour and, if needed, a second
Seasonal Plow Operator and one Rink Maintenance Seasonal staff member at $15.50/hour.
(2) Table for further discussion.
