8.d Engineering UpdatesSCANDIA Engineering City of Scandia Q & MLENK Engineering Updates 6/20/2017 2017 Seal Coat Project ➢ Contracts have been executed. ➢ Work is scheduled to start the week of July 24tH • 2017 Crack Filling Project ➢ Work has been completed other than a few punch list items and Contractor's Request for Payment No. 1 will be on the Council agenda as a separate business item to consider for approval. • 2017 Patching Project ➢ Work has been completed and the quantities came in lower than estimated so the project amount will be lower than the bid amount. Contractor's Request for Payment No. 1 and Final will be on the Council agenda as a separate business item to consider for approval. • Soil Boring Quote Work ➢ Field work has been completed and report has been submitted. Overall the underlying soils were found to be acceptable to complete full depth reclamation projects versus full reconstruction projects other than on Oxboro Ave N and a portion of Oren Road N that had organic content in the underlying soils. Comprehensive Plan Update ➢ Project website (https://www.bolton-menk.com/clients/scandia/index.html) ➢ Focus Groups for Youth and Business/Agricultural were conducted on June 5tH ➢ 55+ Focus Group is tentatively scheduled for June 22"d ➢ Survey is final and we hope to have it ready to send early the week of June 19' ➢ Third Steering Committee meeting will be scheduled for mid to late July, once survey results are in and compiled. MnDOT / 1-35 ➢ http://www.dot.state.mn.us/metro/protects/351inolakes/index.html ➢ MnDOT opened bids, June 2nd, Shafer Contracting Company will be awarded the project in July 2017. • City Street Funding Bill ➢ The Governor signed the bills that were sent to him on Tuesday, May 30, 2017. Within Chapter 3 from the Special Session is the Omnibus Transportation Finance Bill that included $8M for the Small Cities Assistance. In 2015 the amount was $12.5M, actual breakout of this bill is not currently known. • Miscellaneous Items Engaged in a pre -application conference call on the Scandia Elementary School improvements. ➢ Presented at the Washington County City Administrator's Meeting, May 24th on Infrastructure Financing related to Development Projects. ➢ Presented to the Capital Improvement Committee on May 25th that included a long-range street Capital Improvement Plan. May 30th attended the Washington County Capital Improvement Plan and Comprehensive Plan Workshop Session coordinated by Washington County Public Works. Will be attending the Capital Improvement Committee Meeting on June 28th
