6. c) Warming House ConcessionsConcessions Sales
The Park and Rec board is looking for the city council's permission to allow prepackaged food to be sold
at the warming house to bring in money to be used for improvements to the rink and warming house.
Vending:
Due to the distance from the city and limited seasonal use of the warming house, we have been unable
to find a company to install and maintain any vending in the warming house. To increase the amount of
time Dustin Hegland would suggest a pop machine on the backside of the warming house. Pop
machines are made to be outside all year. By being outside the machine could be used all year. If we
can have a machine outside all year then maybe we will be able to get a vendor to install a pop machine.
If not, Dustin Hegland would be willing to buy and fill a pop machine and sharea portion of the profit
with the rink.
Concessions -
We would also like the council's permission to allow groups of people to use the kitchen in the warming
house to sell prepackaged goods as long as a portion of the profits are shared with the park and rec to
be used to improve the rink. This would allow the Boy Scouts, Lions, or a Scandia resident to sell
prepackaged concessions to rink patrons to earn money for the rink. The reason for only the sales of
prepackaged food prevents and need for a food service license.
