RESOLUTION NO. 02-18-14-02
ACCEPTING DONATION OF TRAIL AND SIGNAGE IMPROVEMENTS AT HAY
LAKE PARK FROM EAGLE SCOUT THOMAS LILLQUIST
WHEREAS, Eagle Scout Thomas Lillquist approached the City Council at its August 20,
2013 meeting with a proposal to build a trail connecting Hay Lake Park and the Swedish
Monument and install directional signage in the area as his Eagle Scout award project; and
WHEREAS, the Council gave its approval for him to proceed with the project; and
WHEREAS, the trail and signage has been completed which are improvements to the Hay
Lake Park area; and
WHEREAS, Lillquist was responsible for all of the aspects of the project, including
raising a total of $563.92 to cover the cost of the project; and
WHEREAS, Thomas Lillquist has been invited to the February 18, 2014 Council meeting
to provide a final update on his project and to be recognized for his efforts;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT HEREBY RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF
THE CITY OF SCANDIA, WASHINGTON COUNTY, MINNESOTA, that it should and
hereby does accept the donation of the trail and signage improvements at Hay Lake Park from
Eagle Scout Thomas Lillquist, and
FURTHER, BE IT RESOLVED, that the City Council recognizes and extends its thanks
to Eagle Scout Thomas Lillquist on behalf of all of the citizens of Scandia, for his generous
donation to our community.
