From: Judi Negus, Office Assistant
Re: Log House Landing Signage - National Park Service
Background:
In June 2014, City Administrator Handt received a call from Jill Medland of the National Park Service
requesting to attend a Parks and Recreation Committee meeting to discuss signage for Log House
Landing. The National Park Service is looking to partner with the City to add signage to the landing in
recognition of its historical significance. Staff invited the National Park Service to attend the August 4
meeting and shared the “Scandia Parks, Trails, and Open Space Signage Guidelines” adopted in May
2013. Staff also requested any additional information for Committee review prior to the meeting.
Issue:
Should the Parks and Recreation Committee recommend the proposed signage at Log House
Landing?
Proposal Details:
Jill Medland and Jean Van Tatenhove of the National Park Service will be attending the mee ting
to present their proposal. In addition, they plan to provide handouts during the meeting.
Fiscal Impact:
Uncertain at this time.
Options:
1) Approve proposed signage at Log House Landing as presented.
2) Recommend changes to the proposed signage and then approve signage at Log House
Landing.
3) Do not approve signage at Log House Landing.
Recommendation:
There is no recommendation at this time.
