January 2018 report
PW Staff report - Parks:
Meeting date: February 5, 2018
➢ Monthly safety checks done on playgrounds
➢ Vinterfest :
- 30 FT staff hours, 7 director hours, 16 hrs PT staff hours
- Tennis net up for high pucks NE rink corner
- The bright white product seemed to help sustain the North end
- Barricades — up and down, Recycle / garbage cans emptied
- 4 —Vinterfest signs removed from city corners
- GFI was blown Saturday am
- 2019 suggestions — spare generator by vendor — We can have
ours in cold storage just in case, review capacity of outlet with
vendors
➢ Rink maintenance — Zamboni each day — continued flooding when
the weather is conducive
➢ Lilleskogen Park —STS — continued buckthorn removal — there are 4
more days in February reserved for Scandia
➢ 1 of the two ballfield drags improved — in house — weight added and
wheels retract for taking to multiple fields without lifting the unit
➢ Sidewalks: Snow blown 4 times, broomed once
➢ Fixed the light at the Haylake shelter
