Welcome to the Summer 2014 recreation guide. We are offering some past favorite classes to help Scandia resi-
dents experience a fun -filled season of activities. Many activities for boys and girls will be offered in partnership with
Camp Lakamaga located on Big Marine Lake. Pre -registration for all programs is required. For updates on program

Each class includes individual and
group instruction designed to
match a player's skill level. For the
younger players simple drills and
games will teach players to handle
ground strokes and volley with
partners. Older players will play in
single or double matches and work
on consistency and strategies so
players will be more efficient.

Little Tyke Archers
Grades K-2
Learn how to string a bow, shoot
arrows using different types of
bows and stay safe in the sport.
Once you have the basics down,
have fun shooting at the targets
to see how many points you can
score! Dress for the outdoors
and wear closed toed shoes.
Parents who would also like to
learn more about the sport of
archery are welcome to register
and participate as well with your
child.

Grades 3 - 6
Learn the basics and then further
explore the different types of
bows. Practice shooting com-
pound and traditional bows at dif-
ferent distances. Master tradition-
al targets and take on some 3-D,
life -like animal targets to hone
skills and add a little fun! Dress
for the outdoors and wear closed

Skateboarding Camp
Ages 7 -12
This camp will focus on learning
new skills, safety and camaraderie.
Each lesson includes instruction on
how to improve skills and can also
cover specific tricks each skater
wishes to learn. Bring a water
bottle and helmet, as well as a
fully functional skateboard.

Beautiful Camp Lakamaga is located on the shore of Big ■
Marine Lake, and owned and operated by the Girl Scouts
of Minnesota and Wisconsin River Valleys. Boys and girls ■
are welcome at all programs co-sponsored with the City
of Scandia.
Camp Lakamaga asks all campers to complete a I
short health history form prior to the start of their ■
activity. Forms will be available on the City's web-
site (www.ci.scandia.mn.us)and at the City office. ■

Ages S and up
Thursday is FUNday at Camp Lakamaga! Come with your special adult. Try
swimming, arts and crafts, nature exploration, and other fun camp activities.
Adults must attend with kids. Lunch is included.

SCANDIA 2014 City of Scandia Recreation Programs
General Instructions: Complete this registration form and return with payment (cash or check) by the registration
deadline to the City of Scandia, 14727 209`h Street North, Scandia, MN 55073. Enrollment is limited and pre-
registration for all activities is required. If a program fills, a limited wait -list may be available. Assume all classes will
run as scheduled. Refunds will be issued if the class is cancelled; you will be notified at least 3 business days prior to
the class if there is a cancellation. Refunds will not be issued for non-attendance unless your cancellation is received at
least one week prior to the start of the class. For classes indicating a grade level, register by the grade level
your child completed in the 2013-2014 school year. Additional registration forms are available at the City office
or on our website: www.ci.scandia.mn.us. Call Judi Negus at the City Office at 651-433-2274 for further in-
