5.g) Scandia Operating Policy With DL Changes (Redline) April 2014Valid Driver's License
All members must possess and maintain a valid Minnesota driver license of
Class D or higher as a condition of membership. The City of Scandia may,
without notice, check the validity and record the driver license number of any
member. If a member's driver's license is temporarily suspended, suspended,
restricted, revoked or otherwise invalidated, the member must immediately
report such information to the Chief Officer-and-Gity
dr„•�,�,. nost_a.�+.�++.�+„r The member must also immediately report to the Chief Officer the
member's involvement in any legal action that could negatively affect his/her
ability to drive a motor vehicle. The member's failure to report the foregoing may
result in disciplinary action, up to and including termination of employment.
If a member's license is temporarily revoked or restricted, the member may be
placed on an unpaid leave of absence. In the alternative, the City may assign to
those members certain administrative tasks, on a case-bv-case basis. In making
such determinations the Citv will take the followina into consideration:
1. Whether administrative work is readily available;
2. The lenath of the drivina restriction or revocation:
3. The ability of the employee to obtain a work permit;

impact on the department or other members or employees working in 0.25°
the Department; and
5. The employees past gob performance and disciplinary record.
During the revocation period, the member may respond to emergency calls and
attend training sessions but will not be allowed to operate fire department
vehicles.
If the revocation extends beyond six (6) months, the member will be terminated
from the department.
