9.e) Staff Report-Step Increase, EgelkrautSCANDIA Staff RepoVt Date of Meeting: May 20, 2014 To: City Council From: Kristina Handt, City Administrator Re: Step Increase, Egelkraut Background: In July 2013 the City Council approved City of Scandia Compensation Policy (Resolution 07-16-13- 03). Under the policy, each year on an employee's anniversary date following a satisfactory performance review and with approval by the City Council, the employee is eligible to receive a step increase. Egelkraut began employment with the City of Scandia on June 11, 2007. Issue: Should the City Council approve the step increase for Maintenance Worker Mike Egelkraut? Proposal Details: On May 12, 2014 Director of Public Works Kieffer gave Maintenance Worker Egelkraut his annual review. A review of work completed over the past year as it relates to Egelkraut's job duties was discussed and goals were established for the coming year. After reviewing Egelkraut's performance for the entirety of the past year, the Public Works Director and City Administrator are recommending Egelkraut receive a step increase. His new hourly rate of pay would be at a Step 10 ($24.16). Options: 1) Approve the step increase effective June 11, 2014 2) Do not approve the step increase Recommendation: Option 1.
